About SEGynUro

A voiding diary is a valuable clinical tool used to evaluate and document the severity of lower urinary tract symptoms such as frequency, urgency, bladder pain, nocturia, and urinary incontinence. When instructed to complete a voiding diary, the required information should be obtained for at least 3 days. Please note that these days do not have to be consecutive. However, once you begin recording the information, it should be completed for a full 24 hour period in order to count as full day. You will be supplied with the voiding diary (with thorough instructions), as well as a collection container (called a hat). It is important to document the time and volume of each void, each incontinent episode with its associated symptom or activity, the total fluid intake for the day, the number of pads used during that day, the time up for the day and the time to bed for the night. The voiding diary assists the clinician in determining the type and severity of urine loss and in planning appropriate intervention. This tool can also be used to follow your progress once your therapeutic regimen has been implemented.
